सुबह अरु लेट हि उठा हर बार कि तरह ब्रश किया मुँह धोकर चाय पी तब तक दीदी खाना पक्का चुकी थी। वह खेत जाने के लिए घर से निकल रही है। जाते जाते कह रही है यदि अच्छा ना लगे तो पीछे वाले घर मे टीवी देखने चलें जाना। छोटी बेटी से कहा मामा को ले के जाना ।उसने भी हा मे सर हिलाया। दीदी के साथ हि पीछे घर कि एक औरत भी जा रही है लगता है कि ये औरत सारा कि माँ है। कुछ देर बाद हि खाना खा कर हम दोनों पीछे वाले घर मे आ गये। सारा ने अरु को आता देख तुरंत दूसरी और मुँह फेर लिया और डंडे के सहारे दूसरे कमरे मे चली गयी। अरु तुरंत हि एक बात तो समझ गया। फोन पर जिससे बात कि थी और जो लंगड़ी लड़की है, वो दोनों सारा हि है। अब तो उसका दिमाग पता नहीं कहा गया और दिल तो पता नहीं क्या कर रहा है मन हि मन बोला, अब बात कैसे करुँ, तभी उसने कहा टीवी चालू कर लो। अरु ने भी अच्छे बच्चे कि तरह टीवी चालू कर ली और टीवी देखने लगा। पर अरु अरु को ना जाने क्या हो रहा है उसका मन टीवी मे लग हि नहीं रहा। एक एक पल जैसे सौ सौ साल का हो गया हैं, अरे ये क्या हो गया ये लाइट को भी अभी जाना था। लाइट जाने के बाद अरु गुमसुम बैठा रहा तभी उसने देखा दीदी कि गुड़िया मेंहदी लगा रही है। काफी सुंदर मेंहदी डिजाइन बनाया है तुमने, अरु ने कहा, मुझे भी मेंहदी लगवानी है, मामा मेरे आधे हाथ मे मेंहदी लग गई है तो मैं कैसे आप को लगा दूँ। अच्छा तो अपनी सहेली को बोल वो लगा देगी। उसने कहा, दीदी, मामा को मेंहदी लगा दो, बिना किसी बहाने के वो आ गई। अरु उसके साथ हि दरवाजे के पास बैठ गया। और वो अरु के सामने थोड़ा बाजु मे दिवार के पास रखी बोरियो के सहारे बैठी। सारा के दोनों पैर अरु के सामने रखे है पूरी तरह से ढके हुए है ऐसा लगा जैसे सारा अरु से अपने पैरो को छुपा रही हैं। हो भी सकता है क्योकि लंगड़ी तो है पर हद तो इस बात कि हो गई कि सारा नेे अपने सारे बालो को उसके चेहरे और अरु कि नजरों के बीच लटका लिए। सारा कुछ इस तरह बैठी है कि वो अरु के हाथ को उसके पैर के घुटने पर रख कर एक हाथ से अरु के हाथ को पकड़ कर बड़ी आसानी से दूसरे हाथ से मेंहदी लगा रही है। पर अरु उसका चेहरा नहीं देख पा रहा है सामने होते हुए भी। अरु ने सोचा लंगड़ी लड़की को किस बात का घमंड है इतना। घमंडी कहीं कि, खैर उससे बात करने कि कोशिश करता पर सारा ने बात हि नहीं कि। अरु को थोड़ा गुस्सा आया अरु ने अपने पैर से उसके पैर को धक्का लगाया। वो थोड़ी घबरा गई। अरु थोड़ा डर गया उसका दिल अब जोरों से धडकने लगा। सारा अब जल्दी जल्दी मेंहदी लगा रही है शायद उसके दिल मे कुछ तो फिलिंग हुई है, शायद सारा को मेरे दिल के कुछ तो हालात का पता चल हि है। अरु सोचता हुआ फिर उसके हाथ को थोड़ा थोड़ा स्पर्श भी किया पर वो अनजान बनकर मेंहदी लगाये जा रही है।मेंहदी लगा कर अभी जैसे उठी अरु ने फिर कहा मुझे भूख लगी है।वैसे अरु को भूख नहीं लगी है पर सोचा उसके हाथो खाना खाने को मिलेगा क्योंकि अरु के हाथो मे भी मेंहदी है भांजी के हाथो मे भी मेंहदी है तो खाना केसे खाए। पर जो सोचा हुआ नहीं, बिना कुछ कहे सारा ने सब्जी मे रोटी चूर कर ले आयी साथ मे एक चमच और एक गिलास पानी भी और कहा एक हाथ से खा सकते है।मैं नहाने जा रही हूँ कुछ चाहिए तो अभी बोल दो। क्या बोलता अरु उससे ,वो थोड़ा घुस्से मे भी दिखी, अरु को लगा कुछ ज्यादा हो गया। नहीं कुछ नहीं चाहिए आप जाओ।अरु ने खाना खाया और दीदी के घर आ कर सो गया। अब तक उसका चेहरा नहीं देखा आखिर उसका चेहरा देखु कैसे । ये सोचते हुए अरु को नींद आ गई। जब आँख खुली तो देखा दीदी खेतों से आ गई है और खाना बना रही है। सबने शाम को खाना खाया और फिर बहुत देर तक बात करते हुए सो गए। अगली सुबह हर बार कि तरह लेट हि उठा और सीधे पीछे वाले आँगन मे आ गया अरु ने देखा दीदी कि गुड़िया और सारा दोनों परेल पर बैठी है सारा ने अपना चेहरा चुनरी से छुपाई हुई है और शायरी कि नोट बुक से शायरी पढ़ रही है। अरु सारा को देख हि रहा हैं कुछ देर बाद उसकी मम्मी ने आवाज लगायी तो सारा वहाँ से चली गई ।पर शायरी कि नोट बुक वहीं छोड़ दि। अरु ने जल्दी से जाकर वो बुक उठा ली और थोड़ा पढ़ने के बाद उसमें अरु ने एक शायरी लिख दी और नीचे आई लव यू लिख दिया। बुक वहीं छोड़ कर वापिस आ गया। आगे उस शायरी को सारा ने पढ़ा या नहीं पता नहीं पर अरु तैयारी कर के वहाँ से सारा का चेहरा देखें बगैर हि अपने घर को लौट आया क्योंकि उसे वापिस जॉब पर जाना है।
