अरु ने घर आ कर खाना खाया और टीवी देखने लगा पर जैसे टीवी मे उसका कोई ध्यान हि नहीं है वो सिर्फ उस लड़की के बारे मे सोच रहा है। वो आवाज अरु के दिल और दिमाग दोनों को अपने कंट्रोल मे कर रही है अरु को ऐसा लग रहा है कि दोबारा कॉल करके पूछ ले , तुम्हारा नाम क्या है तुम क्या करती हो ,और भी बहुल कुछ ,पर क्या वो करें तो क्या करें पता नहीं। जिसकी आवाज इतनी प्यारी है वो कितनी प्यारी होगी।अरु ना जाने क्या क्या सोचता हैं आखिर वो एक लड़की हि तो है ,पहेली बार तो किसी लड़की से बात नहीं कि, कई बार कि है कई लड़कियों से बात करते है ,फिर उन सब के बारे मे कुछ क्यूँ नहीं सोचता, जिसे देखा भी नहीं, जिसे जानता भी नहीं,फिर क्यूँ उसके बारे मे सोच रहा हूँ।
बेटा खाना खा लो, अरु को मम्मी ने आवाज दी । अरे ये क्या रात हो गई पता हि नहीं चला ।देखो रात के नौ बज गए है।तुझे तो समय का भी पता नहीं है।कहीं मैं पागल तो नहीं हो गया। जल्दी से हाथ धोकर खाना खाने लगा और बोला, मम्मी मुझे दीदी के घर जाने कि इच्छा है, हा चलें जाना बाद मे, अरु ने कहा बाद मे क्यूँ ?कल हि जाने का मन है। फिर वापिस काम पर भी तो जाना है ।कब जाऊंगा फिर आप बताओ। माँ ने हा मे सर हिलाया। कुछ और बातें करते हुए अरु ने खाना का लिया और अब सोने के लिए बिस्तर पर आ गया। पर आज सो जाना अरु के लिए जैसे सबसे मुश्किल काम हो गया है ।एक तो घर आने कि खुशी दूसरी गणतंत्र दिवश कि खुशी और उस पर भी भारी उस लड़की कि आवाज। जो अरु को सोने नहीं दे रही है। कभी टीवी देखता कभी मोबाइल चलता कभी करवटे बदलता और इस तरह से वो रात बीती ।अरु कि जिंदगी कि सबसे लम्बी रात यही है। अरु सुबह जल्दी उठा और तैयारी शुरू कर दी ।दीदी के घर जाना है । घर पर तो कोई साधन है नहीं ,तो बस से हि जाना पड़ता है दीदी के घर ,उनका गाँव (समानगांव) अरु के गाँव (कुपजल) 45 कि.मी. दूर है।कुपजल से अरु बस मे बैठ गया । बस मे सीट पर बैठते हि नींद भी लग गई। बस का टिकट भी ले लिया है। सुबह के 10:30 बजे तक अरु समानगांव पहुँच गया। बस से उतरा और पहला कॉल उसी नंबर पर मिलाया। इस बार किसी औरत ने फोन उठाया। अरु ने कहा मैं यहां आ गया हूँ। मुझे दीदी के घर का पता नहीं पता ।फिर उसने कहा आप कि दीदी घर पे नहीं है वो खेत गई है, तूम मेरे बताए पते पर पूछते पूछते चलें जाना। फिर वह पता बताती है।
